Things to see while in Krakow

Historic Krakow
Knights, Castles and even a dragon, historic Krakόw has it all. Put on your best dress or suit of armour and visit the Wawel Royal Castle with it’s Cathedral, Royal Mausoleum and armouries (just book your tickets online well ahead). Carry on to explore the famous Sukinnice, the life blood of Eastern European Medieval trade routes – with shops to fit any fancy or a secret underground museum. If you’re thinking of something higher, take a quick turn to the magnificent St. Mary’s Cathedral and even view the beautiful city from the Tower. Look beyond the rynek, you can explore the ancient streets of the Jewish Quarter. Narrow streets, fancy food or sample some fancy absinth brews, it’ll keep you busy into the late night! Krakόw, yours to explore endlessly!

City Escape - The Classics
Sometimes you just need to leave the city and see what else the nearby landscape has to offer. Krakόw is surrounded by a damn long lost of places to see – honestly a few days is not enough. There are many day tour service kiosks around town that can help you out, but to name a few in case you’re all filled with sugar from the Gofry you can get some salt at the famous Wieliczki Salt Mines. Delved too deeply and greedily, the Polaks made a huge salt mine with salt buildings deep underground that span hundreds of years – its pretty cool tbh. There is also the chance to see Auschwitz itself! There are plenty of fun day trips – both historic and a combination to suite your needs.

Zakopane
You’ve probably heard Monika and I talk about our Mountain people- the Gόrale. If you want to hit the mountains, see the beauty of Poland while munching on our famous sheep’s cheese with more beer and Kielbasa then Zakopane is the place for you! Make sure you take your good boots for that hike, the mountains are huge!

Calorie Fest 2026 - Krakow Food Crawl
We’ve all been good and trying to look our best for the photos, but enough is enough! Its time to undo those months of dieting. The heart of Krakόw is the food! From fine and fancy to hearty and delicious, Krakόw delivers a diverse gastronomic scene that has something for everyone. We’ve saved some top picks for you below to sample, but you never know what waits just around the corner!
Note!! If you’re getting the meat sweats from all the grub, you can always go to the Zakrzowek! Technically – it’s a former industrial quarry that’s now a semi-small lake. Sounds rustic, chique and cool right? It is! Its not too far of a walk from the city, it’s a great place to get a time away, catch some sun and R&R before the real party begins!
